A classic comfort food that is warm and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • 1 15 oz. can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 15 oz. can black beans, drained
  • 1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Dice the onion and drain the beans. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat (5) until ground beef is cooked all the way through.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
  4. Simmer for 30 minutes until slightly thickened or pressure cook in Instant Pot for 15 minutes.

Notes

Quick version: substitute both cans of tomatoes and the spices for 2 cans of “chili starter”.

Chuck roast chili

Cut 2 lbs. chuck roast into 3/4”-1” pieces
Brown on 2 sides
Follow above recipe
Instant pot 25 minutes
