Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  4. Set oven to 170°F and prop door open slightly with a wooden spoon.
  5. Place the tray in the oven and dry for 4 hours, until beef is completely dry, hard, and crumbly. Stir every 30-45 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  7. Store in airtight containers or vacuum-sealed bags.
  8. Keep in a cool, dark place for 1–2 months or freeze up to a year.
