A rich chicken dish full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 onion
Seasonings
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts in half horizontally. Liberally season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Mix seasonings and flour and set aside.
- Heat cast iron skillet to medium (5-6). Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture on all sides.
- Add oil to skillet and brown chicken on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- Cut onion into 1/4” strips. Add to the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low (3). Continuously stir the onion around until translucent.
- Mix chicken broth, milk, and flour together. Add to skillet and whisk continuously. Allow to come to a simmer.
- Add chicken back to skillet. Cover and simmer until chicken is fully cooked through, ~10 minutes.
