Bbq sauce (Stubb’s copycat)

An easy to make sauce that is better than store bought.
Ingredients
- 1 15 oz. tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. molasses
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 3/4 tsp. black pepper
- 3/4 tsp. onion powder
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
- 1/8 tsp. xanthan gum + 1 1/2 Tbsp. warm water
Instructions
- Add all ingredients besides xanthan gum to a pot. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil then lower heat to medium-low (2). Simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Whisk xanthan gum into warm water until smooth. Reduce heat to low (2). Slowly whisk slurry into the sauce. Stir 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Taste and adjust flavor as desired.
- Cool completely before storing in fridge.
Notes
1 6 oz. can tomato paste + 3/4 cup water can be substituted for the tomato sauce
