Stuffed shells

A fun way to change up spaghetti and meatballs.


  • 1/2 box. large shells (~22 shells)
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce


  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano


  1. Make spaghetti sauce, if needed. Set aside.
  2. Boil shells for 9 minutes, stirring occasionally so they don’t stick to the bottom of the pot. Once done, drain and run under cold water until no longer warm. Set aside.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup of sauce in the bottom of a 9”x 13” baking dish and spread evenly. Set aside.
  4. Mix filling ingredients. Fill each shell with 1 1/2 Tbsp. filling. Place in an even layer in baking dish.
  5. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over top of stuffed noodles, covering as much exposed noodle edges as possible.
  6. Cover pan with tin foil and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
