A classic, hearty meal that is sure to please.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 green bell pepper
  • 3/4 slide of saltines
  • 2 eggs

Seasonings (1 tsp. each)

  • Nature’s season
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Finely dice onion and bell pepper. Set aside.
  2. Add meat and seasonings to a large bowl. Mix with hands until thoroughly combined.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper. Mix again.
  4. Roughly crush crackers in hands and add. (Some 1/4”-1/2” pieces are fine.) Mix again.
  5. Add eggs. Mix again.
  6. Shape meat into loaf. Put in loaf pan and cover with tinfoil.
  7. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes on middle rack.
  8. Cut meatloaf in half horizontally (the middle should be slightly pink). Pour tomato sauce evenly over the top.
  9. Put meatloaf back in the oven on the bottom rack uncovered for another 20 minutes.
  10. Once done, drain oil from bottom of the pan, if needed.

Notes

For a larger loaf, add another 1 lb. of ground beef. Form into a freeform loaf on a baking sheet. Bake longer, if needed.
