A classic comfort food that is warm and tasty.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 15 oz. can kidney beans, drained
- 1 15 oz. can black beans, drained
- 1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 1 15 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp. maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Instructions
- Dice the onion and drain the beans. Set aside.
- In a large pot, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat (5) until ground beef is cooked all the way through.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
- Simmer for 30 minutes until slightly thickened or pressure cook in Instant Pot for 10 minutes.
Notes
Quick version: substitute both cans of tomatoes and the spices for 2 cans of “chili starter”.
