
Bone-in short ribs

A slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone delicious way to prepare short ribs.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs. bone-in beef short ribs
- 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 tsp. liquid smoke
- 1/4 cup water + more for soaking
- 2-3 Tbsp. bbq sauce (optional)
Spices
- 4 tsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 tsp. curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper
- 1/4 tsp. mustard powder
Instructions
- Add shirt ribs to a large bowl with apple cider vinegar and enough water to cover. Allow to soak for 20-30 minutes.
- Drain, rinse, and pat ribs dry.
- Cover ribs in liquid smoke, then cover in spices.
- Add to crockpot along with water. Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Optional: remove short ribs from liquid in crockpot and place on a baking sheet. Brush with bbq sauce and broil for 3-4 minutes until sticky.
Notes
To make in the oven: add ribs to a baking sheet. Cover tightly with tin foil and bake at 250°F for 4-4 1/2 hours.
