A rich, delicious breakfast porridge.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dry millet
  • 4 medium dates
  • 2 1/2-3 cups water
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add millet and dates to a jar and cover with 1-2” of water. Allow to soak overnight.
  2. Drain and rinse millet and dates. Add to blender.
  3. Add about 3/4 cup of water and blend until smooth.
  4. In the meantime, bring 1 1/2-2 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.
  5. Pour millet mixture into a medium pot and heat over medium (5). Once it starts to bubble, turn the heat to medium-low (2) and stir often. 
  6. Allow to cook for 7-10 minutes until thickened, whisking constantly.
