A slow cooked and hands-free way to make delicious shredded beef roast.


  • 3 lbs top round beef roast
  • 2 c. Beef stock
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper


  1. Rinse and pat dry beef roast. Cover all sides with salt, pepper, and flour.
  2. In a lightly greased cast iron over medium-high (6) heat, sear beef roast on all sides.
  3. Place beef roast and beef stock in an 8”x8” baking dish. Cover with tinfoil and bake at 300ºF for 6-8 hours. Flip roast halfway through, and add more liquid if level is too low.
  4. Once beef roast is ready, cook down liquid if too watery.
