Porridge flavors

Porridge is one those things I can eat everyday if I switch up the flavorings. Below are some of my favorite ways to flavor my different porridges.

Porridge flavors

These flavors work well with millet, amaranth, rice, and farina porridges.

Plain

For the plain porridge, I really only add sweetener. Per one serving, I add about 1-2 tsp. of honey, maple syrup, or agave. This is the simplest version, which is a good base for adding any additional toppings or spices.

Cinnamon raisin

Cinnamon raisin contains just what it says: cinnamon and raisins. Per serving, I add about 1 Tbsp. of raisins, a decent sprinkle of cinnamon, and the regular amount of sweetener. It has a nice, warm flavor, and often compliments the base of the porridge well.

Chocolate

To make the chocolate version, I like to go for double chocolate. 1 Tbsp. of chocolate chips, mixed with a couple tsp. of cocoa powder and a bit of sweetener. This tastes like a mix of chocolate and breakfast.

Conclusion

These porridge flavors work will with a lot of different porridges. This list is by no means exhaustive, and I have many other flavor ideas for inspiration.
