Fried cabbage

Yield: 6 servings

A tasty side dish that compliments pretty much anything.


  • 1 small head of cabbage
  • 3 slices of bacon
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Lawry's
  • 1/2 tsp. Nature's season
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper


  1. Cut bacon into 1/2" pieces. Set aside.
  2. Cut cabbage into 3/8" rounds. Put into a strainer and rinse in the sink.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium (4-5) heat. Add bacon and cook until just starting to firm up.
  4. Add cabbage, then sprinkle seasonings on top. Cover and allow to cook undisturbed for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove lid and flip bottom cabbage to the top. Cover and allow to cook undisturbed for another 5-7 minutes.
  6. Repeat flipping and cooking cabbage until cabbage has reached desired texture, breaking up cabbage with each turn. Adjust seasonings and oil, as needed.
