The improved version of a storebought classic.


  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt


  1. Combine all ingredients except vanilla in a saucepan over medium (4) heat. Whisk continuously until cocoa powder is fully dissolved.
  2. Once bubbling, allow to boil for ~1 minute, stirring often with a flexible spatula.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla, and store in a glass jar in the fridge.
