A quick, classic dinner that is healthy and delicious.
1/2 Tbsp. sesame oil
1 lb. beef
1 small onion
1/2 of 2 bell peppers
8 oz. baby bella mushrooms
1/3 c. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. coconut aminos
2-3 Tbsp. beef broth or water
4 cloves of garlic
1 tsp. fresh ginger -or- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 Tbsp. corn starch
1 tsp. honey
1/8 tsp. Chinese 5 spice (optional)
Dab of molasses (optional)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. chili powder
Wash and slice the beef, onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms, and mince the garlic. Set aside.
Whisk sauce ingredients until smooth and set aside.
Heat a skillet to medium (6) heat. Add the oil and sauté the beef until fully cooked and browned on each side. Remove from heat and set aside.
Add sliced mushrooms to skillet. Sauté until moisture starts to be released, ~5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Add bell peppers and onions to skillet. Sauté until slightly cooked but still has crunch, ~3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Add broccoli to skillet, along with the sauce. Bring sauce to a simmer, then add all ingredients. Allow to cook for a few minutes over medium-low (3) heat until sauce has thickened and everything is heated through.
